PASADENA, Cal.–

The Oregon Ducks brought home a 59-20 victory over the Florida State Seminoles in the 2015 Rose Bowl game held New Year’s Day.

Going into the game, the Ducks were seeded second and the Seminoles third. Florida’s loss marks the end of their 29 game winning streak. Both teams now have a 13-1 record.

The game was a total shutout by the third quarter. Oregon scored three consecutive touchdowns following Florida turning over the ball three possessions in a row. Oregon closed the game with another two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

“[It was] a lot of fun,” said Oregon coach Mark Helfrich of the Ducks’ run. “But at the same time, these guys were able to retain a tremendous focus.”

Oregon’s victory means they will have a chance to play the Ohio State Buckeyes for the national championship on Monday, January 12. The team will be led by the 2014-2015 Heisman Trophy winner, quarterback Marcus Mariota.

“It’s incredible. I’m so proud of these guys right here,” said Mariota of Thursday’s game. “We’ve got one more to take care of.”
