“Twist Your Dickens”
November 22 to December 24
Performed at the Portland Center Stage, “Twist your Dickens” is an improv parody of “A Christmas Carol.”
“The Santaland Diaries”

Also at Portland Center Stage, “The Santaland Diaries” chronicles David Sedaris’ experience working as Crumpet the Elf in a Macy’s Santaland Display.
“Rudolph on Stage”

Bad Reputation Productions brings the 1964 animated classic Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer to life on stage.
“It’s a Wonderful Life”

Stumptown Stages brings the 1946 classic musical film to stage at the Brunish Theater.

The Oregon Ballet Theater presents George Balanchine’s “The Nutcracker” at the Keller Auditorium.
“A Circus Carol”

The Wanderlust Circus stages a circus adaptation of Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol Classic” at the Alberta Rose Theater.
Christmas Light Displays

Rated the #1 Holiday Event in Portland by the Portland Business Journal in 2013, Winter Wonderland boasts more than 250 light displays.
Festival of Lights at The Grotto
November 28 to December 30
The Grotto’s light show features a walk-through light display, choral performances, a petting zoo, carolers, and worship services.
November 28 to January 4
The Oregon Zoo’s annual ZooLights features a new train route taking visitors through displays and over one million LED lights.
December 5 to 21
This year is the Portland Christmas Ships Parade’s 60th anniversary. Over 60 decorated Christmas ships cruise down the Columbia and Willamette Rivers to be admired from the shoreline.

Tudor style homes in Peacock Lane’s southeast neighborhood decorate for Christmas with beautiful sparkling lights, nativity scenes, Christmas trees, and Santa and Frosty replicas.
Runs and Walks
Jingle Bell Run/Walk
Jingle Bell Run/Walk participants dressed in holiday attire raise donations for people with arthritis.
HO HO 5K
The Union Gospel Mission and Portland Humane Society benefit from the HO HO 5K, where participants bring donations of canned food, clothing, and blankets.
The Holiday Half
The Holiday Half is a 5K run organized by the shoe store Foot Traffic and Sponsored by Adidas.
