Sleep Train held its 11th Annual Pajama bowl for foster kids on Sunday. Dozens of people bowled in their pajamas at Big Al’s in Beaverton. The participants came out to raise money for foster kids.

Peggy Hays with the organization, Bridge the Gap, explained that the goal of the event was to make a difference in the lives of the children.

“Some of them have never had a birthday cake, some often have never gone to ballet lessons,” Hays said. “Most of them have never been to summer camp and to me summer camp is an opportunity every child should have. So we try to just be there to normalize their childhood.”

Last year, the Pajama Bowl raised $160,000 and will match that amount this year.
