The Economic Policy Institute (EPI) recently released a report stating the annual income of each state’s top 1 percent. Oregon ranked among the middle of the pack with a $306,000 annual income threshold.
The states near Wall Street have the highest income threshold — with Connecticut ranking at the top with an annual income of $678,000. The lowest ranking state is Arkansas at $228,000.
The EPI provided another chart illustrating the difference between the highest and lowest earners in each state.
The ratio between the income threshold for the top 1 percent and average income for the bottom 99 percent in Oregon is 20:1.
